Desk Report,

At a roadshow in Jhenaidah, NCP leaders said, “No elections without Hasina’s trials and reforms.”

The leaders of the National Citizens Party (NCP) have stated that the elections will not be accepted without the trial and reforms of Sheikh Hasina, who ordered the killings in the July Movement. They said this in their speech at the NCP’s July march and road meeting organized at Payra Chattar in Jhenaidah Municipality on Wednesday afternoon.

At a roadshow in Jhenaidah, NCP leaders said, “No elections without Hasina’s trials and reforms.”

Demanding the speedy preparation of the July Charter, NCP convener Nahid Islam said, “We will implement the July Charter and release it, God willing.”

In his speech, NCP’s southern chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah said, “The BSF has killed 1,200 people on the border in 25 years since 2000. The BSF is not a border guard, but has become a murderous force. They only want to kill, killing is their addiction. The BSF is an anti-humanitarian force. We will not accept border killings. We want to tell the Indian government to treat the people of Bangladesh with dignity.”

Hasnat Abdullah also said, “We are the people of Bangladesh. Since August 5, I have seen a party questioning us, they do not want reforms. We want elections after trial and reform. We want justice for the murderer Hasina. A party is saying that reforms and justice will be done after being elected, there has been a lot of such deception. How can I get the assurance that you will reform and justice after being elected. Make reforms quickly, otherwise the students will come out on the streets again. Police brothers, you also have to take responsibility for the July movement. You have to remember that not all police are bad. Your brothers and my brothers work in the police. Those who were Awami League police, those who stood against the students and the public, they also have to take responsibility for the July killings.’

At that time, Tarek Reza, the central joint member secretary of the NCP, a son of Jhenaidah, was announced as a candidate in the upcoming elections. Hasnat Abdullah said in this regard, ‘We handed him over to you. He wants to work for your development including education and health for the people of Jhenaidah. You stay with the NCP. The NCP will work to achieve your rights. “The NCP will do people’s politics and will always stand by the people.”
